This is a very big temple of the Shingon sect of Buddhism whose whole Daigo mountain is the domain of a temple. Although most except Gojyu-no-tou had been burned in the Onin War, it was revived taking advantage of Hideyoshi's Daigo-no-Hanami. Sampo-in where a garden is beautiful, a Gojyu-no-tou, the main hall of a Buddhist temple in which it is the oldest building in Kyoto, etc. have many highlights.
