Although it was the guardian deity of the mountain where trees grow thick in ancient times, the foundation carried out clearly is unknown. Faith has been collected as God of water from the time of the Heian period. Izumi Shikibu, a poet, is told to have prayed in order to regain a husband's love here. Cyu-gu is famous also as the god of marriage. As for the precincts of a temple where an old tree grows luxuriantly, emotion is felt.
