Famous for a Kare-sansui garden. It is beginning that Katsumoto Hosokawa, a general, yielded the cottage of Tokudai-ji , and received and founded it in (Hotoku) 2. The rock garden which matched 7, 5, and 3 with the large and small stone from the left for the right expresses the appearance to which a tiger is accompanied by the cub and is crossing the river to white sand, and has the another name of a "tiger cub crossing the river" in it. Moreover, it is said that The Five Monasteries of Kyoto and the character meaning kokoro(heart) are modeled.
